Terms of Service

IMPORTANT: By accessing or using SolSlopes ("the Game"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Game.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SolSlopes, a blockchain-based multiplayer skiing game. By creating an account, connecting a wallet, or playing the Game, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Age Requirements

Solo Play & Casual Multiplayer: You must be at least 13 years of age
Competitive Multiplayer (Wagered Games): You must be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater

2.2 Geographic Restrictions

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Game, particularly wagered competitive games, complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction. Competitive multiplayer with real-money wagers may not be available or legal in all jurisdictions.

You represent and warrant that:

You meet the age requirements for the game modes you access
Your participation in wagered games is legal in your jurisdiction
You are not located in a jurisdiction where such activities are prohibited
You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms

3. Game Modes

3.1 Solo Play

Free single-player mode with no wagering. You can earn XP, unlock achievements, and compete on leaderboards.

3.2 Casual Multiplayer

Free multiplayer racing mode with no entry fees or wagering. You can create private rooms and compete with friends for bragging rights.

3.3 Competitive Multiplayer (Skill-Based Competition)

Skill-based competitive mode where participants pay an entry fee of 0.025 SOL (~$5 USD at time of writing) to compete in tournaments where all players face identical game conditions.

⚖️ SKILL-BASED COMPETITION - NOT GAMBLING:

SolSlopes Competitive Multiplayer is a skill-based competition, not gambling. The outcome is determined solely by player skill, not chance. All players in each match face:

Identical obstacles - Every player sees the exact same obstacles in the exact same positions
Synchronized hazards - Environmental events (avalanches, ice patches) occur at identical times for all players
Fair conditions - No random elements affect gameplay; winners are determined by dodging ability, reaction time, and strategy

Winner Determination: The player with the highest score (distance + tokens collected) wins. This is comparable to competitive esports tournaments, chess matches, or racing competitions where entry fees create prize pools.

            Prize Distribution:
            Winner receives 93% of the total prize pool
Platform retains 7% as a service fee
Example: 4 players × 0.025 SOL = 0.10 SOL total → Winner gets 0.093 SOL (~$18.60)

        

4. Discord Activity Platform

4.1 What is a Discord Activity?

SolSlopes is available as a Discord Activity - an embedded application that runs within Discord voice channels. By using the Discord Activity version, you agree to additional terms specific to that platform.

4.2 Discord Platform Requirements

When using the Discord Activity version:

You must have a valid Discord account in good standing
You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service
You must comply with Discord's Community Guidelines
Your use is subject to Discord's platform availability and policies

4.3 Discord Activity Limitations

Platform-Specific Restrictions:

Competitive Mode with Wagering: Currently disabled in Discord Activities. Only casual multiplayer is available in Discord.
Content Security Policy (CSP): Discord enforces security restrictions that limit certain features
Discord API Limits: Discord may impose rate limits or feature restrictions
Platform Dependencies: The Discord Activity requires Discord's servers to be operational

4.4 Wallet Linking in Discord

You may optionally link a Solana wallet to your Discord account within the Activity:

Wallet linking is optional and only required for competitive modes (when enabled)
You can unlink your wallet at any time
We store the association between your Discord ID and wallet address securely
You are responsible for securing your Discord account to prevent unauthorized wallet access

Discord Account Security:

Because wallet linking associates your wallet with your Discord account, it is critical that you:

Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Discord account
Use a strong, unique password
Never share your Discord login credentials
Immediately report any unauthorized access to your Discord account

4.5 Discord-Specific User Conduct

In addition to our general User Conduct rules (Section 7), when using Discord Activity you must also:

Not violate Discord's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service
Not use the Activity to spam, harass, or disrupt Discord servers
Not attempt to exploit Discord's platform or APIs
Respect Discord server moderators and their rules

4.6 Platform Modifications and Discontinuation

We reserve the right to:

Modify or discontinue Discord Activity support at any time
Enable or disable features in the Discord version independently of the web version
Remove the Activity from Discord's App Directory if required

No Guarantee of Discord Availability:

The Discord Activity version is dependent on:

Discord Inc.'s platform and infrastructure
Discord's Embedded App SDK and policies
Discord's continued support for Activities

We are not responsible for disruptions caused by Discord platform issues, policy changes, or discontinuation of Activity support.

5. Blockchain Integration & Cryptocurrency

5.1 Wallet Connection

Competitive multiplayer requires connection of a Solana-compatible wallet (e.g., Phantom, Solflare). You are solely responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your wallet and private keys
All transactions made through your connected wallet
Understanding the risks of cryptocurrency transactions

5.2 Entry Fees and Prize Pools

By participating in competitive multiplayer, you acknowledge:

All entry fees are final once submitted to the blockchain
Entry fees cannot be refunded after the game starts
Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible
SOL prices fluctuate - your entry fee value in fiat currency may change
Only the highest scorer wins the prize pool - there are no participation rewards
This is a pure skill-based competition where all players face identical game conditions
Outcome is determined 100% by player skill (dodging, reaction time, strategy)
There are NO random elements that affect competitive fairness

5.3 Refund Policy

Entry fee refunds are only issued if:

The host closes the room before the game starts
You leave a competitive room before the game starts
A critical technical error prevents the game from starting (at our sole discretion)

Once a game begins, all entry fees are locked and non-refundable.

6. Scoring & Fair Play

6.1 Score Calculation

Scores in competitive multiplayer are calculated as:

Final Score = Distance Traveled + Token Values

Bitcoin (BTC): 100 points each
Ethereum (ETH): 75 points each
Solana (SOL): 50 points each
Dogecoin (DOGE): 25 points each

Winner is determined by highest final score. In the rare case of identical scores, highest distance wins as tiebreaker.

6.2 Server-Side Validation

All competitive game scores are validated server-side to prevent cheating. We reserve the right to:

Invalidate scores that appear fraudulent or impossible
Suspend or ban accounts suspected of cheating
Withhold prize distribution pending investigation

6.3 Anti-Cheating Policy

Strictly Prohibited:

Use of bots, scripts, or automation tools
Modification of game files or memory
Exploiting bugs or glitches for unfair advantage
Colluding with other players to manipulate outcomes
Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans

Penalty: Immediate permanent ban and forfeiture of all prizes/winnings

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership

SolSlopes and all related graphics, code, music, sound effects, game mechanics, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and play the Game for personal entertainment purposes only.

7.2 NFTs and Digital Assets

When we introduce NFT cosmetics, achievements, or other digital assets:

You own the NFT token itself (blockchain asset)
We retain ownership of the underlying intellectual property
You may trade, sell, or transfer NFTs according to blockchain standards
We reserve the right to discontinue visual rendering of deprecated assets

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

Use offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language in chat or usernames
Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
Impersonate other users, moderators, or administrators
Share or distribute malicious content, links, or software
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Interfere with the proper functioning of the Game

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.1 "AS IS" Provision

THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 No Guarantee of Availability

We do not guarantee that the Game will be:

Available at all times or without interruption
Free from bugs, errors, or security vulnerabilities
Compatible with all devices or wallet software

9.3 Cryptocurrency Risks

You acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of cryptocurrency, including but not limited to:

Price volatility and potential loss of value
Transaction failures or delays on the blockchain
Smart contract vulnerabilities or exploits
Irreversible transactions and potential loss of funds
Regulatory changes affecting cryptocurrency use

9.4 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
Damages arising from your use or inability to use the Game
Loss of cryptocurrency or NFTs due to user error, wallet compromise, or blockchain issues
Game outcomes, score disputes, or prize distribution delays

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN ENTRY FEES IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SolSlopes, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

Your violation of these Terms
Your use of the Game or connected wallet
Your violation of any rights of another party
Your violation of applicable laws or regulations

11. Modifications to Service and Terms

11.1 Game Changes

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Game at any time, including:

Game mechanics, scoring, or balance changes
Entry fees or prize distribution percentages
Available game modes or features
Blockchain integration or supported tokens

11.2 Terms Updates

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:

In-game notification
Email (if provided)
Website notice

Continued use of the Game after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Account Termination

12.1 Your Rights

You may stop using the Game at any time. Any wagers in active games will not be refunded.

12.2 Our Rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately if:

You violate these Terms
You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
You cheat or exploit the Game
Required by law or legal process

Terminated accounts forfeit all prizes, achievements, and in-game assets (non-NFT items).

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13.2 Arbitration Agreement

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Game shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.

13.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis and waive your right to participate in class actions, class arbitrations, or representative proceedings.

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SolSlopes.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

14.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
